OAKVILLE COUNCILLOR JEFF KNOLL RE-ELECTED HALTON POLICE BOARD CHAIR

Oakville Local and Regional Councillor Jeff Knoll has been re-elected Chair of the Halton Police Board. Councillor Knoll was elected during the Board’s meeting on Thursday, January 25th. Ingrid Hann, who was appointed to the Halton Police Board as the Region’s civilian appointee on October 29, 2020, was re-elected as Vice-Chair. This is Ms. Hann’s second appointment to the Halton Police Board where she previously served from 2017-2019 as the provincial appointee.

Chair Knoll offered the following remarks upon re-election:

“I am filled with a profound sense of responsibility and gratitude for your continued trust in my leadership. This role is not just a position of honour that I enjoy and cherish, but it is also my commitment to serve our community diligently in our ongoing public safety mission.”

Councillor Jeff Knoll was appointed by Halton Regional Council to the Halton Police Board in 2012. He has served as Oakville’s Ward 5 Regional and Town Councillor since he was first elected in 2000. As a local entrepreneur and employer, Councillor Knoll is also the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Film.Ca Cinemas in Oakville. In addition to serving as a member of the Police Board, Councillor Knoll serves as Chair of the Oakville Public Library.
