HALTON POLICE BOARD WELCOMES NEW BOARD MEMBER

The Halton Police Board is pleased to welcome Pavan Parmar to the Halton Police Services Board as our newest Regional Council Board member. Her appointment is effective as of today, December 9, 2021.

Jeff Knoll, Chair of the Police Board, will officially introduce Pavan Parmar to the Board at the next Police Board meeting on December 16, 2021. Ms. Parmar said “It is my honour and privilege to serve on the Halton Police Board where I will have the opportunity to represent our growing and diverse community’s needs and best interests. I look forward to working and collaborating with my fellow board members, Halton Regional Police Services, community stakeholders and residents of Halton.”

Pavan Parmar was elected to Oakville Town Council in 2018 as Town & Regional Councillor for Ward 7. Ms. Parmar holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the DeGroote School of Business at McMaster University and an MBA degree from the Ted Rogers School of Business at Ryerson University.

Ms. Parmar’s corporate experience includes her role as a Consultant with an international consulting firm, BDO Canada, LLP where she applied her more than 10 years of experience in citizenship and immigration law. She was a key asset in providing strategic advice to C-suite personnel, business owners, entrepreneurs, and investors.

In her private life, Pavan has been a member of the 2021 Campaign Cabinet for the United Way Campaign. Pavan and her husband are lifelong Oakville residents and reside in Ward 7 with their two children.

The Halton Police Board would like to thank Gary Carr, Regional Chair for his service to the Halton Police Board over the past year. On December 7, 2021, Gary Carr announced his resignation from the Halton Police Board. Mr. Carr’s contribution was impactful and there is no doubt his involvement will positively impact the Board’s work as we continue to move forward.
