Nadeem Akbar 

Appointed to the Halton Police Board in 2025, Nadeem Akbar is a long-time Halton resident and community leader who brings over twenty years of experience in corporate leadership, project delivery, and strategic management – alongside a deep commitment to public service and community engagement.

Throughout his career, Nadeem has held senior roles with global organizations such as IBM, Hewlett-Packard, and Kyndryl, leading major infrastructure and technology programs. He currently serves as Vice President of Public Affairs at BIA Group, where he focuses on building strategic partnerships, advancing sustainable growth initiatives, and strengthening stakeholder relationships across industries.

Nadeem has dedicated much of his time to community service, serving on boards such as People’s Care and supporting initiatives that help newcomers, empower youth, and strengthen local communities across Burlington, Milton, and the wider Halton Region. His experience as a federal Conservative candidate for Milton and Burlington North–Milton West has given him valuable insight into local priorities, particularly around public safety, economic opportunity, and community development.

Guided by the values of collaboration and accountability, Nadeem is committed to helping build safer, stronger, and more connected communities throughout the region.

He lives in Halton with his wife, Dr. Saima, who serves at Brampton Civic Hospital, and their three children.
