Lisa Kearns 

Regional Councillor

Lisa is an elected Halton Region & City of Burlington Councillor and Deputy Mayor of Community Engagement & Partnerships in her second term.

Experienced in national management positions in healthcare, manufacturing, and advertising, Lisa is known for common sense solutions that deliver powerful results throughout her career.

She is respected as a credible voice in total value decision making, empowering strategic partners, and intuitively connects the threads of community. Her Council priorities are to deliver access to housing through community-led growth management, supporting the local business economy, and climate resiliency. Whether it’s through the community updates, pop-up meetings, walking tours, or online newsletter, Lisa engages with residents to keep them connected to City Hall.

At City Hall, Lisa serves as the Audit Committee Chair (2020-2022), Budget Chair (2023), Halton Region Health and Social Services Committee Vice-Chair (2019) and is Council liaison to many advisory committees.

Lisa is passionate about social enrichment and serves on the Board of Directors for: Halton Regional Police Services, Burlington Food Bank, Burlington Downtown Business Association, Burlington Public Library, Art Gallery Burlington, and Burlington Sound of Music. She has served on the Joseph Brant Hospital Board (2019-2022), Centre for Skills and Development Training (2019-2021), and United Way Campaign Cabinet. She is dedicated to using her experience in both the public and private sectors to drive strategic governance plans forward.

Lisa holds an Honours BA in Political Science, uplifted by business stream curriculum from the University of Western Ontario (UWO). She has obtained the Institute of Corporate Directors designation.

Lisa lives in downtown Burlington with her family and two dogs. You can often find Lisa enjoying the waterfront and all the vibrancy downtown has to offer.
