OAKVILLE COUNCILLOR JEFF KNOLL RE-APPOINTED AS CHAIR OF HALTON POLICE BOARD

The Board is thrilled to announce that Jeff Knoll, Oakville’s Ward 5 Local and Regional Councillor, has been re-elected as the Chair of the Halton Police Board.

The election took place during the Board’s latest meeting on January 30th. Complementing this re-appointment, Ingrid Hann, who has been serving the Halton Police Board as the Region’s civilian appointee since October 29, 2020, has secured her position as the re-elected Vice-Chair.

This is Ms. Hann’s second appointment to the Board; her previous term was from 2017-2019 as the provincial appointee.

Councillor Jeff Knoll has been proudly serving Oakville’s Ward 5 as Regional and Town Councillor since 2000. He was appointed by the Halton Regional Council to join the Halton Police Board in 2012, and has been serving as Chair since 2021.

Chair Knoll offered the following remarks upon re-election:

“I am deeply honored to be re-elected as Chair of the Halton Police Board for 2025. I want to extend my  appreciation to my Board colleagues for their continued trust and unwavering support. Your collaboration and dedication inspire me every day.  As a Board, we have worked diligently to uphold Halton’s well-earned reputation as the safest large municipality in Canada. This distinction is a testament to the collective efforts of our community, the Halton Police Board, and the exceptional team at the Halton Regional Police Service.  Serving as Chair is a privilege and responsibility I hold with the utmost respect. I look forward to building on our shared commitment to ensuring the safety, security, and well-being of every resident in our community. Together, we will continue striving to make Halton a model of safety and excellence.”

Councillor Knoll also holds the position of Chair of the Oakville Public Library, in addition to his membership at the Police Board.
